Visiting Sautee

Sautee Nacoochee is a lovely small community located in the North Georgia Mountains near Helen Georgia.  We are located only 1.5 hours from the Metro Atlanta area, so day trips and weekend getaways are easily planned.  This page includes some of the activities and lodging options available for your visit.

Our local Sautee Nacoochee Center includes a calendar of local music, dance, workshop, and other events, as well as local food, shopping and lodging options and even horseback riding stables.  The Center also features a local historical museum.

If you are looking for a place to stay when visiting, we can recommend both Georgia Mountain Rentals for many beautiful rental options, and Timberloft Cottages for affordable cabins near Unicoi State Park.

One of our favorite local getaways is Unicoi State Park, which features a 53 acre lake with beach, fishing, hiking, lodge, cabins, campgrounds, and picnic facilities.  Behind the park lies Anna Ruby Falls, a really spectacular 153 foot waterfall that is fed from multiple creeks.

We also love our local neighbors the Sweetwater Coffee House, and the antiques and local artist gallery Shotgun Annie’s, who shares our building.

And let’s not forget our favorite bookstore, Mount Yohan Book Exchange, just south of Helen Georgia on Ga Hwy 75, where Christian Tantric Meditation Guide  is available.
